MSAR Leadership Academy

Emerging leaders of today will guide the Metro South Association of REALTORS® organization into tomorrow! MSAR will continue the tradition of training individuals who will be selected from scores of applicants for leadership opportunities in the MSAR organization and beyond.

Candidates who may best serve as leaders in the future are selected based on their track record of volunteer performance for their local board and/or civic organizations, and their personal integrity.

MSAR invites you to complete and submit the application for your chance to be a part of the next generatiopn of MSAR REALTOR® leaders.

Leadership Academy Recognition will be held at the 2024 Installation of Officers.

MSAR Leadership Academy Requirements

The Leadership Academy Tuition is $125. During our 2024 Pilot Program of the Leadership Academy, tuition will be fully reimbursed to all students who successfully graduate from the program. Additionally, one lucky graduate will receive a complimentary registration to a 2025 GAR Conference of their choice.

All applications will be reviewed upon submission. If selected, an invoice will be sent to you to securely pay your tuition online. Only 20 participants will be accepted to the program, so be sure to apply below now!

March 20th, 2024

Meet & Greet / History of MSAR, Structure, Policies & Procedures, Parliamentary Procedures (Roberts Rules of Order), and History of GAR / Leadership / Regional Director

  • MSAR Bylaws/Policies and Procedures. Discussion of participants to attend Board of Directors and Committee.
  • Brad Mock, GAR CEO, to discuss roles/responsibilities, leadership, committees, etc.
  • Jenea Kennedy to discuss roles & responsibilities of GAR Regional Director

 

April 24th, 2024

Fair Housing (3 Hours CE)

Instructor: Joi Bostic

  • Fairhaven Simulation: Participants will complete online and provide certificate of completion by May 15, 2024.

DISC Training / What does Leadership Look Like to You?

Past Presidents' Panel to discuss "What does leadership look like to you?" You will be provided with John C. Maxwell's "Leadership 101."

 

June 2024 - Self-Paced

REALTOR® Engagement: Completing one of the activities below will mark you compliant for June's session.

  • Participate in one community event during the month of June, where you interact with the public, give back, and promote the MSAR and/or REALTOR Brand. You may choose your own event or participate in one of the recommendations below. Please notify MSAR staff of which event you attend, so we may send other leaders to take photos and participate with you, wherever possible. 
  • List of upcoming events:
    • June 5, 5:00pm: Morrow Juneteenth Celebration
      • 1065 Olde Town Morrow Road, Morrow, GA 30260
    • June 15, 9:00am: City of Jackson trash pickup day.
      • Meet at City Hall at 9:00am.
    • June 15, 5:30pm: Jackson Juneteenth Celebration with Mayor Carlos Duffey

    • June 18, 9:00am - 3:00pm: Stronger Together DEI Summit

MSAR Leadership Roles: Completing the following will mark you compliant for July's session.

  • 7//11/24, 10:00am: Attend one Board of Director's meeting: We really want you to attend this one meeting to be introduced to other MSAR leaders. If you can't make it, however, you are compliant if you have already attended a BOD meeting this year. 

  • Attend one MSAR Committee meeting: You are compliant if you have already attended a committee meeting this year.

GAR Advocacy Update  

The GAR Advocacy Team will meet at MSAR to provide the class with an interactive Legislative Update, RPAC, & RIAC presentation. Lunch to follow immediately thereafter. 

  • Please notify david@msarboard.com of any dietary restrictions.
  • Due to Healy Building repairs, this session will now be held at the MSAR office instead of the GAR Healy Building. Please arrive at MSAR no later than 10:30am.
