Code of Ethics

TO: ALL METRO SOUTH REALTOR® MEMBERS
FROM: Christy Slaton, Association Executive
RE: Mandatory Code of Ethics Training - Offices have been notified of all members in need of completing a current course.

NOTE: If an agent listed above has completed the Code of Ethics class through another school, please have the individual send proof of completion to msar3020@gmail.com. This can be obtained through the Georgia Real Estate Commission. Dates listed above is what our system and the National Association of REALTORS® system shows. It is the responsibility of the individual to notify their home board when completing a Code of Ethics outside of their home Association.

NOTE: ALL REALTORS®
must be in compliance with the National Association for REALTORS® by having a Code of Ethics course complete according to the new cycle which is January 1, 2017 - December 31, 2018. The following information is from the National Association in full detail. PLEASE draw your attention to all pertinent information that WILL effect your membership if REALTORS® do not follow through.

A new two-year cycle began January 1, 2017. The deadline for this cycle is December 31, 2018.

Training may be completed through local REALTOR® associations or through another method, such as home study, correspondence, classroom courses, or online courses.

New members of local REALTOR® associations must complete Ethics training when they first join. A new member who has completed the New Member Code of Ethics and Orientation shall not be required to complete additional ethics training until the next two-year cycle. As stated on page 2 of the New Member application signed by the broker and the individual, this course is to be complete within six months of membership and no member benefit will not be received until this requirement is fulfilled.

A REALTOR® who has completed the required ethics training within a two-year cycle in one association shall not be required to complete any further ethics training for that same training cycle if the REALTOR® becomes or is a member of another association. In addition, a member may take courses to satisfy this ethics training requirement through any association or outside training facility where the member can provide satisfactory documentation of completion.

Failure to complete the required ethics training shall be a violation of a membership duty for which membership is suspended and subsequently terminated.

If you have any questions, please EMAIL them to me at msar3020@gmail.com.  Thank you.
